Mr. Fast was born and raised in West Virginia. He graduated from Fairmont State College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a Minor in Technical Writing. Mr. Fast received his law degree from Regent University School of Law. During his time at Fairmont State, he was appointed by its President to be the Student Body Representative to the West Virginia Board of Regents.

Giving back to our communities is a tradition that Tom takes very seriously. He donates time and resources for scores of community programs and philanthropic organizations. Through the years he has served as a member of a local school board (New Life Christian Academy) and a member of the Fayette County Republican Executive Committee, serving as President and their Secretary for several years. He is a member of Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. Tom has donated his time and resources serving as a mentor for youth by directing summer camps and coaching basketball. Attorney Fast has generously given to several local sports teams and booster organizations.
